Day 1 - COLOMBO / BENTOTA
Arrive at the airport and be met by our representative and transferred to Hotel in Bentota. En route visit Turtle Hatchery. TURTLE HATCHERY Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. The turtle digs a hole on the Beach, Lays hers eggs and covers it with sand where it is supposed to, incubate by the heat of the sun. What often happens is, the eggs are dug out by fisherman and sold to people who consume them. But now the eggs are bought up by the conservation projects and are hatched the Natural way in enclosed areas where the Birds don’t have a chance of picking them up and the babies are let in to the sea after two days at night time which offers them a better chance of survival. Overnight stay at Hotel in Bentota.
Day 2 - BENTOTA / GALLE / YALA
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Yala. En route visit Galle Fortress. CITY OF GALLE Galle is one of the ancient sea ports of Sri Lanka and was an anchor point in the Silk Route. It was later discovered by the Portuguese where they built a fortress and the Dutch that succeeded them fortified it further. This fortress is today a World Heritage Site. p.m. Safari in National Park visit Ruhunu National Park at Yala. This will include a Safari tour by jeep with a jungle tracker, where you can see animals in the Jungle; including elephants, Bears, Wild boar, Dear, Buffalo, Monkeys and many other animals if you are lucky, leopards too. You also could see different types of birds. It’s a small experience for bird watch lovers. Overnight stay at Hotel in Yala or Tissa.
Day 3 - YALA / NUWARA ELIYA
After Breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya via Koslanda. En route view beauty of Diyaluma Water Fall. NUWARA ELIYA Nuwara Eliya also known as Little England is where the homesick British ( The Tea Planters) built themselves a home away from home. A touch of old England could be experienced by taking a drive through the city. p.m. City Tour of Nuwara Eliya. Overnight stay at Hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 4 - NUWARA ELIYA / KANDY
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Kandy. En route visit tea estate.Proceed to Kandy. p.m Visit art and craft center and Gem Bureau where you will be shown a documentary film on how Sri Lankan Gem mining is traditionally done. TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH OF RELIC Visit the Temple of the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. This temple, the most important one for The Sri Lankan Buddhists was built in the 16th Century A.D. solely for the purpose of housing the tooth relic. Observe the magnificent Architecture of that period and experience the tranquility of the atmosphere. Sight seeing of kandy including Upper Lake Drive and visit to Art and Craft Centres
Day 5 - KANDY / PINNAWALA / COLOMBO
Breakfast at Hotel. leave for Colombo. En route visit Botanical Garden. BOTANICAL GARDEN En-route visit the Botanical Garden Peradeniya. Which was a pleasure garden of a Kandyan King of the 16th Century and later made in to a Botanical Garden during the British regime. This gardens; one of the best in Asia is a place of beauty and site for bird watchers. Next ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE The foster – home of elephants of different age and size feed, bathe, play together and even mate. These great animals have been found injured or left abandoned in the wilderness. Now they even breed in captivity. p.m. Colombo City Tour and Shopping CITY & SHOPPING The City Tour will include places of Tourist interest such as Old parliament, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Independence Square, Buddhist Hindu Temple and Town Hall. Shopping at Odel, House of Fashion, Bare foot etc. at Colombo. Overnight stay at Hotel in Colombo.
Day 6 - COLOMBO / AIRPORT
After breakfast leave for Airport for Departure. End of Tour with Triptosrilanka.com
